Jesus took our sin seriously. So seriously, that He died on the cross for it. As we see in Mark 9, Jesus wants us to take our sin just as seriously as He does. He calls us not only to be aggressive, hostile, and ruthless with our sin, but also to be humble, kind, and intentional with how we model His example to others.

In a world that is always fighting for our attention, we more than ever need to focus our eyes on Jesus. We must work to keep our focus on the coming glory of Jesus, the Savior who suffered for us. In Jesus' transfiguration, we see a glimpse of that coming glory and a great reminder of who truly deserves our attention.
